Hi, I’m Corey Peters.
I am married and a father of two. I teach and coach. I’m a follower of Jesus and the founder of Somebody Died For You.
My decision to follow Jesus changed my life (if you want to read more about my story, visit my blog). The Jesus I read about loved the lost and broken (like me). He hugged people that had terrible diseases. He deliberately ate with and associated with sinners, and often angered the “religious experts” of the day. The changes I have seen in myself propel me to go out and do the things that Jesus did, to love people.
How we got started.

For the last several years me and a team of people from church have gone out into the neighborhoods of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, blessing people with groceries, diapers, basketballs, shoes, Bibles, and lots of prayer. We’re motivated by love and a desire to see the Light of Jesus bring Hope to dark places.
In the last couple years the Lord put it on my heart to go out beyond our community and target other areas that are in desperate need of Jesus. We’ve made multiple trips to South Chicago, and the Indian reservation in Rosebud, South Dakota. We’ve seen God do so many amazing things (read the stories).
Somebody Died For You was created to take this mission to the next level, so we can impact more people for Jesus.
Our vision for the future.
I believe God has big plans. He has given me two major goals for the future:
Building Homes and Job Training
Many of the people we meet on the streets are in difficult situations that they can’t escape from. One example is women who work at strip clubs. Most of these women only work there out of desperation. We want to help them with housing, child care, and job training so they can get out.
Reaching the Homeless in Big Cities
We want to hold large events for the homeless in big cities like Chicago and San Diego. We will bus them in for free and provide them with showers, hair cuts, massages, dental care, great food, new clothing, prayers for healing, and Biblical teaching.
I’m so grateful to be part of this and I’m thankful that you stopped by. If you feel moved to join us in this effort, please consider donating or even coming with us as we go out.
